Spartan Hockey Club clinics are designed as an introduction to the sport of
ice hockey. The clinics focus on basic skating and ice hockey fundamentals.
The participants of the clinics are grouped based on ability level and work at
their own speed. The first session is designed for kids new to the sport of ice
hockey with no or limited previous skating ability. The second session is
geared towards experienced skaters looking to improve on their skating and
puck handling skills.
The clinics are open to skaters of all ages and ability levels. There are kids
from grades K-8 attending our clinics with many kids being on the ice for the
first time. The clinics are a non-competitive environment where kids can
learn the game of ice hockey without the pressure of league or team play.
We run the clinics at a small rink with a great instructor to skater ratio. All
clinics will be limited to a maximum of 25 skaters per session on a first come
basis.
The clinics are held on Sunday evenings at Fritz Dietl Ice Rink in Westwood.
Along with basic clinics, we also offer a Power Skating and Advanced Skill
clinics throughout the year.
Session 1 is where you can learn to skate and begin to work on your hockey skills. Kids as young as Kindergarten through 8th grade are welcome to participate.
Session 2 or our advanced program is where existing hockey players can work on their hockey skills and power skating. Again, kids as young as Kindergarten through high school are welcome but must have played organized hockey on a team and have full equipment
